Our bike tours of Riga cover around 10 km of distance along bike lanes and well suited routes away from the walking tour routes. Although we may enter some of the same districts the bikes allow us to get so much further, so much faster and to see so much more than we can on foot.
What will we see on the Riga bike tour?
The tour lasts around 3 hrs and we typically cover 3 main areas of Riga. The Moscow District & Jewish Ghetto. Central Riga & Quiet Centre. The routes will adjust according to group sizes and the ongoing construction within the city and can vary on weekends due to less traffic and more freedom. We aim for the route to cover the theme of "Riga at the end of the Russian Empire, Early 20th Century & Art Nouveau architecture, Nazi and Soviet Occupations and the city of Riga as she is today.
Can anyone join the bike tours?
You must be able to cycle proffeciently within a city. We interact with traffic lights, pedestrians, vehicles and urban environments. We are still experiencing some peoiple booking and joiing who are not capable of basic cycling and so we do not advice anyone to join a bike tour in Riga unless you are cycling confidently. We do provide helmets and all bikes are maintained and tested but people must be responsible for themselves.
